New Music Streaming App, says to pay artists more while listeners can pay $1 a month.

Wednesday March 10th Christian Phyfier, CEO of Resist Entertainment Group made a bold announcement. He stated that after 10 years of being in the music industry and watching the transition from CDs to Streaming, his team has created the newest business model for the music streaming world and he boasts that artists will receive more in pay, while listeners can pay merely $1 a month, total, for all the music they enjoy.

He calls it Scrybe Streaming (Scrybe) and it’s a streaming company made with the creators and listeners both in mind. Set to launch in June of 2021 minimal information was provided in the announcement, but Christianstated that this app will solve multiple issues that artists are having with streaming companies today, and reinstate the monetary loss that labels and artists alike have taken since the birth of the streaming age.

Christian mentioned that he was unable to provide all the details of the app as it is still months away from its launch date, but gave insight to the basic functionality the app will have. Things like free Direct Distribution, which undercuts all the online distribution services offered to artists today. This makes us curious, as Resistribute Music Distribution is owned by Christian, so it seems his own distribution company may not even house the new streaming company.

He further claims that artists will no longer have to wait for quarterly payouts with Scrybe, and that all earnings will be able to be retrieved monthly. This alone is a huge dynamic as the industry standard is 3 months, sometimes longer depending on the distributor.

Lastly for the artist, Scrybe is supposedly not going to license the artist’s music. While there is no exact way of knowing how this will affect the artist until the rest of the business model is revealed, we are assuming there is some place where the creators and Scrybe come up with a value for the content being released.

Regardless if this is just a heroic effort or a valid company to actually change the game, it’s needed and hopefully will do the justice that the Young CEO Claims. Right now, they are offering 1,000 creators to be the first to experience Scrybe as it releases.
